In the dramatic poem, Macbeth, writer William Shakespeare exemplifies the actions and behavior of an admirable soldier whose weakness first brings him power but then defeat and guilt. Shakespeare sets his melodramatic poem in Scotland in the 11th century—a different setting than what we’re familiar with when it comes to Shakespeare.
