China is one of the world oldest cultures aged over 5,000 years old, along with India,
Egypt and Mesopotamia (modern Iraq and Iran). It’s an ancient civilization with extraordinary rich and potentially confusing History. China is nevertheless most populous country in the world, with a population around 1.4 billion people. Covering over 3.7 Million square miles in East Asia making it 4th largest country in the world. Understanding its basic chronology and some notable event has been made easier by using a system of Dynasties. Dynasty is defined as a succession of rulers of the same line of descent.
