Shiha Dalmia's Argument For Gun Control

The general argument made by Shiha Dalmia in her article is that getting rid of America's gun supply is going to be practically impossible, crazy even. The citizens of America have multiple, fairly simple and quick ways to get guns. They could buy them from the black market. They could even get it by purchasing it at a local Walmart, or any other general store that sells weapons. When buying a gun from places like these, the employees do not have to perform a thorough background check, since it is not required. Even people with mental illnesses can get them, due to “discrimination.” We do this because we do not want the mentally ill to feel butthurt, discriminated against and left out. The mentally ill, do not need a gun. Their mind may not be able to function properly and they could use their weapon without even noticing, or they could use it with malicious intent without warning. Meaning, they’re accidently using it for the wrong purpose, or they are too unstable to use it properly without hurting an innocent person. They could accidentally injure someone close to them, like a relative or even themselves.
