During that period the odds were heavily stacked against her. However, she found a way to overcome her obstacles. Life isn’t designed to be walk in the park instead a series of challenges that people have to overcome. She was willing to sacrifice her time, body, and mind to work hard for the rights of the maltreated.
Given the chance to have a conversation with Mrs. Chisholm, I would discuss her impact on this country. She broke down walls and instead of complaining, she took action. I would ask Shirley Chisolm about the reasons why she deiced to become a voice for many. Who was the person or what were the events, which prompted her to become active in government? Lastly I would ask her opinion about the more recent protests against the Trump administration.
I am sure I would enjoy a 30-minute conversation with Shirley Chisolm. With dialogue about legislation, human rights and action. It is a travesty that such talk would be impossible however her legacy will live on forever. Many people struggle to make difference in this world. Many give up when their attempt fall short of a victory, Others prevail though hardship. Nothing is offered on a silver platter, this means that people must implement plans and work hard.
