The Shooting of an elephant essay was really entertaining.
I see that the author George Orwell put a lot of effort and detail into his writing. I feel like he did that so that we could actually feel what the police officer in the story was feeling and seeing. In my opinion the police officer did end up looking like a fool, because what gave into the thing her hated the most(imperialism) A good quote from the essay was “He wears a mask, and grows to fit it”.
I think most people today are like that. They worry too much about what other people think or want so they become whatever they feel will impress people. Even if it means hurting someone or something.
For example, your friends want to steal something but you know it’s wrong but you go along
