On 07/23/2016 at approximately 6:40 PM this Investigator interviewed Velicia Rodriguez at the AHIT Office interview room about the shoplifting incident that occurred at the Target located at 1800 E. Rio Salado, Tempe, AZ where her mother Maria Rodriguez and step-father Robert Kenwabikise were arrested for shoplifting approximately $300 of clothing and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
This investigator asked Velicia about what occurred today at the Target. She stated that her mother Maria Rodriguez and step-father Robert Kenwabikise were arrested for shoplifting and that she and her brother Jeraimiah Rodriguez was present during the arrest of their mother and step-father. This investigator asked Velica if she could talk about what transpired that led to the arrest of her mother and step-father. Velica stated that before arriving at the Target, her mother and step-father told her and Jeraimiah that they were "getting stuff and were not going to buy it but instead steal because there was no money." When I inquired what Velicia meant by "stuff" she stated "clothes." Velica stated that while on the bus ride to the Target, her mother and step-father told them that the clothes that they were going to steal were for the step-father's friend.

Once Velica and Jeraimiah were brought to the loss prevention office, Maria and Robert knocked on the loss prevention office door where Maria and Robert "acted like they did not know what was going on". However, Maria and Robert admitted that they were involved in the shoplifting. During the shoplifting incident, Velica stated that her sister Natalie Rodriguez was at a motel in Mesa taking care of her other brother Isaiah Rodriguez.
