Pegasus is a mythological creature that is described as beautiful pure white station with wings. He is the son of Medusa and Poseidon. When Pegasus was born he flew straight to the mountain of Olympus.and started to work for the chief of god, Zeus. For a while Pegasus lived with the gods and cared for Zeus's thunderbolt Pegasus was associated with poetry and in a tale he was tamed by Goddess Athena and was shown to muses. There was a saying that when ever Pegasus hoof shook it became spring somewhere on earth. suposely this is how the fountain of Hippocrene to appear on Mount Helicon.
When Muses began to sing the very mountain itself started to rise up with joy and Poseidon made Pegasus kick it to make it stop. This is what caused the spring to appear, other spring that are on eart are from Pegasus making spring appear. Pegasus and Perseus teamed up to save the Ethiopian princess Andromeda who was trapped on a rock ready to be sacrificed to a sea monster. Peagasus also paired with Bellerophon who was also a son of Poseidon and that made the two half brothers. Bellerophon when to a soothslayer named Solidus that told him to go sleep in a certain cave. And when he did he found out that he needed to tame Pegasus. But the myth says that Athena tamed Pegasus on Bellephon's behalf.…show more content… These successful victories got to Bellerophen head and made him arrogant. Belletrophon decided he would ride Pegasus to mount Olympus and that made Zeus mad to Pegasus knocked him off of his back. And that was the end of Pegasus and Bellrophon being pair up again.
