The independent film, “ Super Size Me” , is an example of your average American’s eating habit, America’s obesity has increased over so many years because this day in age your average person eats many processed food. Just like in the film, “ Super Size Me”, Morgan Spurlock only ate Mcdonald’s food for thirty days for three times a day. During his documentary Spurlock gained twenty-four pounds and had an 13% body mass increase. Like it is today fast food was not so easy to get,there was not always an ice cream truck outside your house waiting for you too buy a sweet treat, ice cream was a delicacy food in the past. That averages about to eating fast food 3 times a week. An article on CNBC released in February of last year (http://www.cnbc.com/2016/02/04/mcdonalds-salad-has-more-calories-than-big-mac.html) shows how you may think you are eating healthy but in reality you’re not. A kale salad they offered last year had more calories, fat , and salt then there Double Big Mac. The salad from Mcdonald’s was filled with 730 calories, 53 grams of fat, and then 1,400 milligrams of salt. While Mcdonald’s Double Big Mac was 680 calories, 38 grams of fat, and 1,340 milligrams of salt. 1,2000-2,000 milligrams of sodium is what the American Heart Association recommends eating daily on average. We simply need to be more cautious of what we're eating when we eat out. With nutrition labels everywhere now in America, including Subway, IHop, Mcdonald's and many more, the FDA says that companies like this need to have the calories clear and able to read on menus/menu boards and on signs next to self-service foods/foods on display.In the documentary , “ Super Size Me”, Spurlock compares this bad eating habits/food choices against how the tobacco companies doing the same thing, draw you in and in doing so has bad effects for your health. That I can see where he is coming from because food is much as addictive as cigarettes are. A problem I see also is that America’s serving sizes at restaurants and fast food places tend to be large! Some places have a meal that’s 2,000 calories which is what your average American should be getting in a day instead. America’s obesity problem is part of not making healthier
