Why should we accept animal testing, how will it help us in the future? Animal testing has helped out with of medical and medication testing to see if everything will go how the medicine is supposed to go. The Huffington Post states that we should accept animal testing. The article states that over ninety-seven percent of animal research is carried out using birds, rats, fish and mice; and probable using cats, monkeys and dogs as well. Animal testing has been the reason many medical treatment plans have worked tremendously and had a successful outcome. The commonly known deaths in the west are; strokes, heart disease and cancer, but one of the biggest killing disease out in the world is the side effects of prescription medicine. There are on average 100,000 deaths due to the side effects on prescription medicine. Evidence show that testing the drugs on the animals is meaningless to humans. The major reason that drugs are still being tested is to protect the major companies in court when people are injured or hospitalized. Some pharmaceutical companies admit, in private and even in public, that animal testing is ineffective but is done because it provides liability protection against the company.
