Coming from a family that earns just enough to pay the bills and has a few dollars to save, I feel like I can relate to Felipe Bezerra’s way of living to a certain degree. In the article titled “As He Promotes It, Some Question Obama’s Free Community College Idea” by Joanne Jacobs, Bezerra stance on this topic is “Tuition shouldn’t be free for those who can pay for it” but, I would contrastly take the side of total free community college tuition. My reasoning for this side is that many more students are given the opportunity to get a college level education, those who could not afford to go to college because of the cost are now able to enroll, and this would help eliminate the rising student debt.

The first argument I will bring up is the fact that if community college tuition is free, then more students are given the opportunity to attend college. The fact that more students would be able to get a college level education is already good in itself. This reason is important because now a variety of jobs will be able to have more efficient workers that know what …show more content…
Many students finishing prestige colleges will usually use student loans or even bank loans to be able to pay for their education and end up into lots of debt having to pay so much for so long. Making community college free would help lower student debt because it will attract much more students. I am not saying that this would help eliminate all student debt. I am saying that it will help stop student debt rising much more than it is and would be if free college education through community college is available. I have many cousins in my family that would rather transfer to a community college because of its low cost compared to private or state universities. Eliminate the cost and many other students will attend community college for the benefit of the free
