Should The Death Penalty Be Allowed?

Do you think the death penalty should be allowed? From 1977 to 2009, 1,188 people were executed by the death penalty in the United States. The death penalty should be allowed only for criminals with the charges of murder and rape. The death penalty consists of a lethal injection. It is painless, all it does is shut your body down. In my opinion the death penalty should be legal due to the jails being crowded. I am with the argument that the death penalty should be allowed only for prisoners who are in jail for life and they are killed by injection. Jails are being overpopulated and the ones who need to stay in are murderers. They either deal with being in jail or get killed. The death penalty should be allowed because it costs less to give someone the death sentence than to have them charged with being in prison for life. It is an unusual punishment to give, but with the jails being over crowded it is the only other choice we have. It would be similar to what they give animals so they don’t feel anything and it would be like they’re just going to sleep. That is better than giving them the electric chair or hanging them. It is just fast and simple. 672 total people were killed by lethal injection when they were given the death penalty. That is over half of the people because it totals at 56.6 percent that were killed by lethal injection. Other punishments include electric shock, gas chamber, hanging, and firing squad. The electric shock is a chair they put you into and it goes straight to your brain. The gas chamber is a room they put you in and it lets out poisonous gases that you inhale and it kills you. Hanging is when they put a rope around your neck and hang you. Last but not least the firing squad is a line of men who shoot you until you are
