Have you ever felt really good the very first time you actually drove a car by yourself? We have created a nation where driving is essential. Public transportation is not an option except in large metropolitan areas.I can't wait till I have my own car and start driving it. The driving age should not be raised to twenty-one.
One reason why driving age should not be raised is because as with most things, driving is a skill that has to be learned. According to The Harold, ¨the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety probably is right in saying the roads would be safer if the age for getting a driver's license were raised to 17 or 18.¨ The institute reasons that holding off a year or two in allowing teens to drive would significantly reduce car crashes. I think that the driving age should not be raised because, it could lead them to be more responsible if they learn at a young age.

Driving is an important milestone that allows teenagers to transition from childhood into adulthood independently. There is no time to ask people for a ride. For instance many teens have jobs and need transportation to get to that job your mom or your friend won't always be available. That's one of the many reasons why teens need to be able to get licences.
