Should Kids Be Sentenced To Life In Prison Too Harsh

Juveniles are being sentenced to life in prison without the possibility parole for their crimes. Young kids are being tried as an adult for their crimes, but do they deserve to have their freedom taken away for the rest of their lives? Kids are known to be uncontrollable when it comes to their emotions and actions and also known to be immature up to their twenties. Juveniles are also known to make the best candidates for rehabilitation. So is sentencing juveniles to life in prison too harsh? Even though Juveniles commit heinous crimes, they shouldn't be sentenced to life in because violates the eighth amendment and Juveniles are immature and can't control their actions and emotions.
Kids are known to be immature and irresponsible at such a young age. Everyone knows how immature kids are and how irresponsible they could be. Kids can't control their emotions and actions and they act more impulsive than adults. The reason behind these facts is that a child's brain is not fully developed. Kids who are under the age of 18 with a undeveloped brain, are being sentenced to life in prison without the possibility parole for their crimes. Yes, kids are getting their freedom taken away and living the rest of their lives behind bars for heinous crimes and this is a very harsh and cruel punishment. According to The Eighth Amendment in the Bill of Rights, "Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted." On June 25, 2012, the Supreme Court ruled that juveniles who committed murder could not be sentenced to life in prison because it violated the Eighth Amendment’s ban on cruel and unusual punishment. Instead of sentencing juveniles to life in prison, teach juveniles a lesson of life behind bars and get them some counseling to help teach them a lesson and help develop their brain
