Suppose you’re sitting in a football stadium and everyone starts to stand for the national anthem, everyone stands except for one of football players. The player kneels as a protest, drawing attention towards himself and offending any vets watching. This situation is happening all over the world. These players are distracting and are causing chaos. Therefore kneeling, or doing any protest during any game should be prohibited. All these people wanted to do was chill and watch the game but instead they have to worry about why the player is protesting.
In the article, “O’er the ramparts we watched as the athletes were kneeling”, people began kneeling during the national anthem as a protest. These people are allowed to say or do what they feel. Therefore, they knelt or raised a fist as a protest against racial differences. I feel kneeling was a little bit too far. The reason for this is, people are out fighting for that person’s freedom. They should find another more civilized way to protest. Kneeling is completely disrespectful towards vets and people serving.
