Should Refugees be allowed into the United States?
Did you know more than 800,000 refugees have been resettled in America since 9/11(Smith). Refugees should be allowed to come into our country because the United States is a place for safety and freedom. Refugees are forced to leave their country because of the horrible living conditions, dangers of war and the threat of death. Although escaping might be dangerous, it is still better than the violence that is occurring in their country.
When refugees come into our country they are able to benefit our communities and learning experiences. 39% of Syrian refugees have a bachelor's degree or higher, meaning that they can get good jobs that will support their family (Nowrasteh). Many refugees have also made a big difference in America. For example, Albert Einstein, who won a Nobel prize in physics or Madeleine Korbel Albright, who became the highest ranking woman apart US Government in 1997. Instead, opportunities for autonomy – including education, business training and resettlement – were valued highly (Betts).” The guardian.com explained that refugees would rather have some form of money to help them get a job or a better education instead of financial assistance.
This is why refugees should be able to come to America. America is an amazing place for religious freedom, good education, and a place for people to find refuge from the storm of war. So many people in third world countries have to flee because of violence. They will risk their families and their own lives just to get away from all of the danger. These people need to be supported so they can have they life they are longing
