Should The American Dream Still Come To America?

“Today, in America at least 20 million immigrants are living and roaming freely” (rocketswag.com 1). The American Dream is a promise given to immigrants showing there is a better life in America and more opportunities. Many Americans only migrated to America because they sought to find the American Dream and a better life.. But the American Dream wasn’t only promised when America was first discovered. It is still promised to every American citizen today and the 20 million immigrants who are living here in America. Although, some people may argue that America does not still provide access to the American Dream because many people still do not have everything that they were promised; however, others believe that the American Dream is still being provided to the immigrants who come to America by giving them the same opportunities as the citizens that were born in America.

According to Bryce Covert from thinkprogress.org, “More than 600,000 Americans are homeless on a given night, according to the latest government data, which conducts a count on a specific night in January every year” (Covert 1). These 600,000 Americans were promised a better life and job opportunities here in America but yet they are trying to survive out on the streets with nothing to live for.
