Should the United States Drill for Oil in Alaska's Wilderness

Have you thought about how much oil Americans use each day? Americans uses about 25 million barrels each day and that number continues to rise. Wise the rising numbers of oil use and America's domestic oil supply dropping, the lingering question is how can america provide domestic oil and where can we find it? America has recently discovered open land in Alaska where oil is believed to be. Should America drill in Alaska's preserved wildlife or continue to struggle with domestic oil supply? America should drill in Alaska because it would increase job opportunities, provide america with more money, and the Natives don't mind america drilling on their land. therefore america would be able to provide domestic oil while helping our country improve politically and economically.

37.2% of Americans are unemployed. Drilling in Alaska would potentially create anywhere from 250,000-750,000 jobs (Doc B). These job opportunities would help a lot of unemployed families out. With more people moving into Alaska for these jobs, they would have to pay for rent, groceries, etc. This would give the state more funding and create even more job opportunities. If America is providing its own oil, it would be less money spent on importing oil but more money earned selling oil to other countries. In just the first five years of this procedure, America is expected to make 4.2 billion dollars (Doc B). Since America usually imports oil, those countries have power over America. If America is providing our own domestic oil, these countries lose power over America. One day when these countries eventually run out of oil, they’ll turn to America for oil and will be paying greats amount of money. Lets help America come out of debt and start drilling in
