Shrek’s Heroes Journey Would it be a surprise to you if you were told that you have been told the same story over and over again? All the stories you have always been told have been the same with minor differences such as characters, problems, and settings. Joseph Campbell has discovered a pattern in narratives that outlines the main characters adventure called the Heroes Journey. The Heroes Journey is found in all stories such great novels such as Star Wars, Harry Potter, and including Shrek. Shrek contains all of the patterns of a Heroes Journey such as ordinary world, he crosses the threshold, and seizes the sword. In the beginning of Shrek we are introduced to his ordinary world.
