Siddhartha Knew That The Game Was Finished

When Hesse writes “Siddhartha knew that the game was finished” (Hermann Hesse pg 68) we know that he is through with the life he is living. “Game” was a metaphor since Siddhartha had continuously been playing with his life not at all considering his actions nor being serious about the circumstances of his decisions. Siddhartha decision afterwards was that he, “left his garden and the town and never returned” (Hermann Hesse pg 68) which signifies that he is going after his enlightened path and now going to go on another journey. He most likely did not intend to leave Kamala however he had to because that was not where he belonged.
