America is one of the most socially progressive nations in the world,Americans do not realize how lucky they are for being in a country that provides so many commodities. Sierra leone on the other hand has a lot more challenges. Basic Human needs is something that every country should have well Sierra leone comes in at 40% of meeting the need of its people,while the U.S is at a 92% and has increased to 93% percent since 2014. Does this mean that the U.S has more resources, it could be or it could be that the U.S has a significantly less poverty. Although Sierra leone has been improving since 2014 by 3% that still does not compare to the United States. The U.S has an 85% in 2014, which is remarkably high, Sierra Leone does not have the same opportunity coming in at 4.4%. In 2017 the U.S almost hit the 90% mark. Sierra Leone does not they progress,but by .4 instead of 4.4. It is 4.8%. This goes to show that very few in Sierra Leone achieve a higher education. It is not because they do not want to or that they do not desire it, but rather the opportunity are so limited that many have to give up on their dreams. The U.S has many homeless people, but when you compare it within its own states. 90% of Americans in 2014 had a shelter and that goes to show that only 10% of the american population was homeless. Sierra Leone in 2014 had 21% of their population actually had a shelter that means that 79% of their population is homeless, homeless in America is presence but in Sierra leone a bit more than 3/4 of the population is homeless. This shows how poor Sierra Leone really is in contrast to America. In the U.S there is also homeless shelters and section 8 housing. In Sierra Leone there is not Government assistance like there is here in America and to say that poverty is a huge problem in America, is exaggerating
