Signature Assignment: On Forgiveness
What Would Jesus Do? Forgiveness is a very difficult thing to do for many people. Especially if has to do with a family member that has just cheated with another person. It can be a very difficult time for a family trying to forgive the individual that has wounded a whole family. If that individual asks for forgiveness and wants to work through this tough time with family, what would Jesus do? One must ask themselves is it good to hold on to all of that anger inside and never forgive? It can be a very troubling time for all the parties involved but what will really make someone happy in life and right with God? Holding a grudge for the rest of some ones life or forgiving someone for their mistakes and being happy and at peace with God. Jesus would definitely forgive this individual that has sinned because he wants to work things out and is remorseful for what he did. An individual should forgive others so that they can be forgiven as well.

If one is not remorseful and always thinks they are right or they blame their infidelity on someone else, they will not be forgiven. In the first-century in Palestine Jesus saw how upside down the kingdom was and wanted to change people’s old ways. Some changed, but others did not and that is why learning to forgive is very important in anyone’s life. Jesus’ teachings show us the way of how the kingdom should be. He teaches us to be pure-hearted, forgiving and kind, like He was but many people still have a hard time doing that.
