Elie Wiesel once said, “I swore never to be silent whenever and wherever human beings endure suffering and humiliation. We must always take sides. Neutrally helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor never the tormented.” Elie wiesel went through a lot of horrible things. One of them was when he was younger. He had to go through the holocaust. That event was one of the most horrible events ever,for it killed a lot of human beings just because of their beliefs. When Elie gave his acceptance speech he didn’t fail to mention the part where the United States took ten years in order to help them. It wasn’t until it was to their convenience that they decided to help the jews. Although, Elie was very thankful for that he still acknowledged how the US did nothing about it even if it was right in front of their eyes. I believe that this event was probably one of the most horrible thing in history. Adolf Hitler was the one that sent many people called the Nazis to kill all the jews in the world. Nearly killing about 6 million jews, luckily not Elie Weisel. In the book Night by Elie Wiesel, he gives us a lot of examples and tells us a lot about what happened in those times. What really caught my attention was when he mentioned that people had to be a certain age in order for the nazis not to kill them. This was something very outrageous, and I still can not believe how the US did not do anything about this for ten years. In my opinion whenever someone is in danger especially a human being, people should be in line to help them up not wait ten years. Everyone should have to courtesy to help each other out because like they say what you give you receive and if someday the United States is in danger we all might just take ten years to help
