Rachel Carson published "Silent Spring"to manifest how parathion is a terrible way to get rid of animals.The author uses rhetorical strategy to demonstrate her argument about her opinion of parathion.Carson uses tone,anaphora,and rhetoric questions to make the argument more comprehensible as to discuss how she is disgust of the poison.The tone of the author would be disappointment. The passage states"a group of farmers...engage a spray plane to treat an area of river bottom land with parathion."The reason for spraying the parathion was to get rid of the blackbirds who were destroying the cornfield. Carson is disspointed in the way how they used the parathion to kill the blackbirds when the farmers didnt think of the other animals who were
