“Et tu Brute?” Julius Caesar’s last words echo through Brutus’ ears as he stabs him. Charlotte Corday gave Marat a letter so she could execute his murder. Brutus and Corday killed for the good of the people. Brutus was an honorable man who loved Rome more than anything. Brutus only joined the group of conspirators for the well being of Rome. Charlotte Corday had this planned out for some time, she had written out all her goodbye letters and paid off her debts. She knew that if she executed this plan she was going to be put on a death sentence. Brutus and Corday both killed their friend for the good of the people, had significance in the weapon they used, and both gave up their lives.
Both Brutus and Corday knew they needed to kill their friend for the better of the people surrounding them, their country. Brutus killed Caesar because he believes he is preserving peace for the Romans future years. Brutus is a very smart man and analyzes things before coming to a final decision. Brutus is just as noble and worthy as Caesar. (Act 1, scene ii) Caesar states the Brutus cannot see what everyone else does and recognize his worthiness. Brutus knew he need to kill himself to end the war that was going on in Rome. The significance in Brutus death was unlike Cassius he had another soldier hold his dagger and he himself would run against it killing himself as Cassius just stabbed himself. Because Brutus ran against the dagger he died honorably. Charlotte Corday admitted to killing Marat and was arrested on the spot. There was no need for her to lie and say she didn’t do it, she wanted everyone to know she did and was okay with being sentenced to death. She had got her head cut off in attempt in trying to save the Revolution, her body was tossed without a ceremony in a public grave with
