“Martin Luther King’s philosophy is better!”, raged some crowds. “No Malcolm X’s is better!”, shouted Malcolm X fans. MLK and Malcolm X are both Civil Rights activists, who had a very important impact on the US when blacks were struggling for social justice. A philosophy is how someone feels or thinks about a certain topic or situation. King was born January 15, 1929. His emotions towards integration forever changed the United States. He believed in nonviolent protesting, equal treatment for everyone, and for blacks and white to join as one nation. Malcolm X was a troubled child from the start, witnessing his poor family be terrorized by the Klu Klux Klan. As an 8th grader Malcolm Little dropped out of school, he headed for a life of crime and was soon arrested after. While in jail he took after the Muslim religion, and when he joined in the fight against racism. I honestly appreciate MLK’s philosophy more than Malcolm X’s. Martin’s philosophy involved blacks and whites to join together. Eventually, his speech became worldwide and MLK was such a pronounced,determined, and smart man, who only believed in nonviolent, obliging protests and boycotts. …show more content…
However, the main reason I stand with King is because he was nonviolent. No matter what pushed his buttons, MKL would never physically harm a soul. Martin Luther King Jr. believed the only way to achieve total racial harmony is through nonviolence. Although Malcolm X thinks violence is incorrect, he still assumes fighting is the fastest solution. (Doc K) MLK preaches violence never solves the problem, it only makes matters worse.
