Tim Burton’s camera angles were used repeatedly throughout the films, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Edward Scissorhands. The angle Burton used was mostly eye level. “In Charlie and the Chocolate Factory whenever the characters would communicate the camera would be at eye level. The characters would have conversations and the scene would change between the characters but it would stay at eye level. In Edward Scissorhands the scene, showed an example of low level when Edward’s creator showed him his new hands. The whole time the angles were changing, depending on the mood or scene of the movie. The camera stayed in their face when they were talking, depending on the mood of the scene sometimes the camera would go low then high. Most of the time in both movies the camera switched out, and didn’t just stay in one angle.
Tim Burton’s costuming is distinctive from every movie because it's not what people usually wear. In the movie Charlie and the Chocolate Factory when they are at the gates it shows their clothes. You could see what they wear is normal winter

In Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Tim Burton “dissolves the scene when Willy Wonka has flashbacks”. This technique creates a fantasy-like environment, although the scene itself is quite dark. The expression on his face combined with the flashback effect creates a dark mood in the scene. Another example of Tim Burton’s clever use of cinematic techniques is that he, “Focuses the camera on Edward, then the pants, then back at Edward when he was trying to put on pants.” This scene sets a playful, humorous mood to the scene. Although funny, it is still quite dark and sad because it shows his efforts of trying to be a real, normal man. Tim Burton films have fairytale-like elements to them while still having a dark twist to them, thanks to his use of several editing
