In Lord of the Flies many of the characters use unnecessary actions in order to stay alive. The characters turn from a group of little boys to angry, savages that turn on each others backs. Simon portrays this in a different way his personality goes from easygoing to smart and reflective. The TV show Person of Interest relates to the boys in this book in a variety of ways. The main character Reese in most like Simon. Simon relates to Reese and another character Finch, because both, Reese and Finch, are trying to do good so others will survive. The characters in this TV show try to save individuals from either causing a crime of being on the other side of the crime. Simon is trying to stop the crime from happening, he outsmarts the criminal which is themselves, and the criminal finds out that he outsmarted them, the Lord of the Flies. The lyrics “Son, this world is rough and if a man’s gonna make it, he’s gotta be tough and I knew I wouldn’t be there to help ya along” represents characters like Jack, Rodger, Maurice, and the hunters. The characters represent these lyrics because they will do anything to survive on the island. “And I come away with a different point of view.” Simon’s point of view changed partly because he wasn’t a follower of the other boys’ thoughts.
