Intro:
I remember thinking when we started this simulation that I thought I was going to get a lot of what I wanted. After round one, I realized that I was in for a rude awakening. This simulation demonstrates the necessity of balancing one’s own goals with the goals of the organization. Ultimately, my expectations for this simulation were exceeded. This program was well thought out and on a subject matter that is realistic. It demonstrates that in organizations a confluence of forces and stakeholders must be considered to make decisions. It allowed for many of the organizational communication concepts that we learned this semester to be applied. Specifically, things like information flows, conflict, decision making, communication channels, and the tenants of many theoretical perspectives. This experience demonstrates the difficulty of decision making when each organizational member has different goals, values, and objectives.
Costs
Our costs progressively got higher until they leveled out near the high mark side of the metric after round 3. While this metric was high, we didn’t exceed the top line which I perceive means that we remained in budget. As a coalition representative, one of my goals was to avoid utilizing prescribed burns. This forced me to advocate

Preserving the water quality was one of the only things that we all had in common. At its lowest, the water quality was barely below high. We achieved such a high-water quality metric because we were very cautious of the strategies that we relied on to mitigate near water. We read that prescribed burns can lead to water pollution. Consequently, we relied more heavily on mechanical and manual thinning near the water. Even these techniques posed a threat to the water because thinning could lead to erosion. However, we felt that the costs associated with burning would be greater. When possible, we did no mitigation in these
