Jonathan Edwards from “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God”, preaches his message to his congregation by using vivid, imagery words that help to emphasize his main points. Mr. Hooper form “The Minister’s Black Veil”, however, displays his message more so through his actions than words. When he preaches his sermon, he does so wearing a black veil, which symbolizes his own sin and helps to deliver his main point. Throughout the text however, Mr. Hooper continues to wear his veil symbolizing how we as natural sinners continue to carry our sins with us, just as he continued to carry the veil with him.
