1. He is the African prince who is captured & enslaved by a British slave trader and brought to Surinam. Where in time he leads a slave revolt and dies. He is the grandson of the King

2. She claims to be an "eyewitness" to the true story of an intriguing hero. Her attitude towards him was how fascinated she was about him.

3. They meet after battle when Oroonoko's mentor is killed and he reports to his grandfather's court. Imoinda is his mentor's daughter.

4. The king's interest in Imoinda is her beauty.
