Slaves Are No Different From Us

Do you ever wonder what it would be like to be a slave? Not only are slaves brave, but they are kind and take care of others. They are just like us. They are no different from anyone else. Slave do not deserve prejudice. They don’t deserve to be treated the way they did. Slaves are just like us because they had to use bravery and hope just like we do today.
I don’t think it is ever right for someone to be treated differently because they are “different” in some way. Also, no-one should be able to “own” another person. Sure we have butlers, maids, and nanny’s but bosses don’t treat them horrible like some slave owners did to their slaves. And we technically don’t own butlers, maids, or nanny’s. No-one should be denied equal rights because of their race or the color of their skin. In the book NightJohn, Clel Waller, a cotton Farm owner, owned about a dozen slaves; maybe even more. Clel Waller treated the slaves like they were property. A way this could be compared to life today is that Women get denied rights just because of their gender.

That doesn't mean it is the right thing to do. If slave owners didn’t use fear and intimidation methods then they would probably get more respect from the slaves. On a negative note, more slaves would probably try to escape because they don’t think that anything bad would happen to them.
