The Africans in the Caribbean
In 1495, the Africans were slaves that come to the Caribbean to work in the sugar industry to trade the sugar cultivation to other countries, also the Africans brought the music to the Caribbean where makes our countries the happiest countries in the world. The English were the first monarchy and France decided to form their monarchy in Haiti since sugar was so expensive like gold. Sugar cultivation began in St. Kitts in the 1640 and the European brought black slaves to work in the sugar industries.
The reason of bringing black slaves was for an economy purpose because they work for cheap. The sugar industries were developed from the 17th century to 18th century and by then there were 80% of black slave workers. The Taxi drivers charge what they want and the library been unrepairable since the earthquake happened in 1974. The drug dealer is the richest people in the country. The government supposed to invest the money the tourist brought to Antigua and invest on the street and the school and library, because education is supposed to be the first thing the government needs to invest to educate our future children.
Jamaica Kincaid is trying to explain that, England is a big role in his life because he appreciate the world better after seen how other people live in other countries, these are an advantage for the Caribbean for the reason that if a lot of tourists come to our countries is an investment because is money that tourist spend in our country, and that makes the country grow up, and other people can see the realistic view of how these people live in these countries.
