Small Work Group Analysis

Small work groups can be hard to handle when working. Being around the same people in the same setting can good and bad thing, but in my case working at a sports complex is a small setting and with a number of people. At times is can be a struggle; however, during other times it’s worth it to see the success of the sports complex. The sports complex comes with highs and lows. At the end of the day the four areas that the sports complex uses are: influences and style of the influences, task functions, and the group atmosphere. As a team leader I have a number of people on my team that I am in charge of. In all the six member I have one member that is the one that is high influence. He always questions the way I try and lead my team, he is the one that no one gets along with, and he also is the one that is constantly doesn’t care what others have to say. For me as a team leader at my workplace it’s hard to deal with someone is negative and has the low influence in the workplace. As a team leader I try and be a democratic leader to my team members. This style has worked for me this far as I’ve been working at the sports complex. I do ask for their input and or feedback. I do thinks it’s important to have their input in case they are not liking how I’m doing things or their members of the group are doing things. My team members express their feeling if they are not liking how things are being done. The advice, feedback, and the input that my team members have gave has made me a better leader and has helped me be the leader that I need to be to my team members. Conflict can be a problem and when working in small group can cause some chaos, but in my case all of my team members do get along. It’s very rare that when in a small group working environment not to have any conflict, but my team member’s know what they have to do and thy get the job
