Smooth Talk was a film published in 1985 about a fifteen year old girl named Connie. Connie and two of her closest friends felt, as if they were too old to be virgins. On summer they decided to seek for male attention. Connie distances herself from her family, while, her older sister June stays home pleasing her parents. Connie then lies to her parents, as she claims to go to the movies with her friends every night. However, what she is hiding is that every night her and her best friends go to a diner to meet up with boys whom already graduated from high school. While, she flirted, danced, and wore provocative clothing, Arnold Friend had laid eyes on her. Arnold Friend is an old but handsome man who stalks her. Although, everything was going perfect for her, Connie’s worse nightmare began to occur.
Connie believes she is fooling her parents. However, they are more aware than she thinks. One of Connie friend, Jill, gets pregnant from rooming around with random boys. The mother finds out about Jill causing her to suspect that Connie has been seeing different boys as well. Although, her suspicion is true, Connie claims otherwise,

Naïve and angry about her family’s advise, Connie decided to stay home alone. When her parents where at the barbeque, Connie’s dangerous stranger approached the house with his friend. Arnold had told “come take a ride with me”, wanting Connie to get in the car with him. Connie approaches Arnold with a provocative walk, while, giggling. At first Connie was enjoying the situation till she notices how strange the man is. Connie runs in the house, while, Arnold says “I have been watching you Connie, I am your lover.
