A trend currently being talked about in the social space is the number of mergers that are currently taking place. Snapchat has partnered up with Square to create ‘Snapcash’. It enables snapchatters to exchange money with the chat feature of Snapchat. Users just need to link their debit / credit cards with the Snapchat application, they can send snapcash to any of their friends who are eligible to receive snapcash, by typing a dollar sign and an amount, eg $10, and hitting the green button, which will send money to the recipients back account. Square stored the credit card details and processes all payments. As our world is becoming more reliant on technology and developing new ways of doing things companies must adapt their technology to try and meet peoples needs which is exactly what Snapchat have done.
