For my English IV reading assignment I chose to read Snow Falling on Cedars by David Guterson. Currently I am close to halfway done with the book and I am really enjoying it. The book is about a Japanese American man who is accused of killing a local fisherman, Carl Heine Jr. The plot focuses on a murder trial with a series of flashback throughout the book.
Every chapter or so a new character is introduced to the plot. I think Guterson did a really good job at developing his characters. One interesting character that I read about recently was Etta Heine. She is the mother the deceased Carl Heine Jr., who is the main subject of the novel.
