During Reconstruction, a social change leave a big impact in the life of American society. The 14th amendment (document 1) is ratified in 1868 aimed to help formerly enslaved people defining that “all persons born or naturalized in the United States are citizens of the U.S”. Moreover, in this amendment intended to “Nor State shall make or enforce any law which deprive any person of life, liberty, or property”. Even so, the Ku Klux Klan (a secret society) which in spite of the amendment mentioned before, they terrorized Africans Americans and their supporters of their liberty. As claimed the “Petition to the United States Comgress, March 25th, 1871” (document 3): “the Ku Klux Klan were spreading terror by robbing, whipping, ravishing, and killing
