SOC 100 Social Media and Socialization Survey
Instructions: Complete the survey by answering the questions that follow. Additionally, survey three people in various age groups. Use this data to complete the analysis.

I'am 30 years old, Im an African American Female, my source of income currently is child support.
Interviewee #1 is a 22 year old African American Male, His source of income is employment through UPS.

Interviewee #2 is a 56 year old African American women, her source of income is through foster care.
Interviewee #3 is a 33 year old African American Male, his source of income is social security.
What types of phones do you have? What features? Daily usage?
I currently do not own a phone at this time.
Interviewee #1 current owns the Iphone4. The features he has are unlimited talk and text, his daily usage is 500 minutes or better. interviewee #2 currently do not own a phone at this time.

Interviewee #3 has boost mobile android with voice dial, unlimited talk and text.

Do you use email? How many email addresses do you have? Daily usage?
I currently use email services, I have three email addresses that I use. I frequently check my emails on a daily basis.
Interviewee #1 currently use email services, Interviewee #1 has 2 emails.
Interviewee # 2 does not have an email address.
Interviewee #3 currently use email services, Interviewee has 1 email address.
Do you use the Internet? Why? For what? Daily usage?
I use the internet to surf the web for research, resources, current college classes, shopping and playing games. I use the internet on a daily basis.
Interviewee #1 use the internet to watch videos, view Facebook and check email.
Interviewee #2 use the internet to find resources
Interviewee #3 use the internet for shopping and playing games.
Do you blog? What types of blogs? Why? Daily usage?
I currently do not blog.
Interviewee #1 does not blog.
Interviewee #2 currently does not blog.

Do you use Facebook? Twitter or other social networking? Why? Daily usage?

I currently don't use the social network I find it to be messy and a distraction from the real world.
Interviewee #1 currently uses Facebook to connect with child hood friends. He spends several hours on the social network.
Interviewee #2 does not do social networking, she is not familiar on how to use this technology.
Interviewee #3 currently uses Facebook and twitter to stay in touch with whats going on in the social world. He spends majority of his day on the social network.
Out of all the social interactions you typically have in an average day, what percentage are through the use of social media?
Out of all the social interactions I would have to say the percentage I use through social media would have to be 10%.
Interviewee #1 spends 50% percent of his day on the social media.
Interviewee #2 spends 0% percent of her day using the social network.
Interviewee #3 typically spends 60% percent of his day on the social media.
Do you value the social interactions you have through social media the same as those that are not through social media? Why or why not?
I do not value social interaction through media, I prefer to interact hands on, I find it easier to communicate better face to face rather than behind a screen
Interviewee #1 values social networking through the media he states that you get the same affect and relaxes him.
Interviewee #2 doesn't value social interactions through the media she states that thats just another way for people to be in your business.
