The idea of and social worker is dealing with the families and trying to get them to understand the patient’s condition (Cowles, L. A., & Lefcowitz, M. J. (1992).
After reading this article, I am aware of possible perspective that physicians and nurses may think as my job as a medical social worker. The article showed some of the conflicts that a medical social might face with the interdisciplinary profession. My best bet is when I become a medical social it is best to educate and remind physicians and nurses that medical social work provide more than they perceive .
