During our weekly supervision meetings, we have discussed the social work's role and how the values in the NASW code of Ethics, social justice, human dignity, and worth align with those of my agency. I promote social justice by ensuring clients are not only aware of the resources available in our community but that they have access to those resources as well. Of equal importance is making sure I don't infringe on clients' rights by pressuring them into doing something they don't wish to do, such as attending counseling sessions. By allowing clients to make their own decisions we not only empower them but affirm their human dignity and worth.
