In Lord of the Flies, there are many sociological issues that arise including the power divisions mainly between Jack and Ralph but also involving the rest of the group on the island. For example, the group decided that everyone can take a turn to speak when they have the conch which was a functional system that was agreed upon by Jack, Ralph, and the rest of the group. Suddenly, when Piggy was speaking with the conch in his hand and was logically stating the issues in the group and how the methods that are being used for survival isn’t completely working out, Jack got angry and started yelling and name-calling Piggy which then resulted in Ralph getting involved and once again noting the fact that he is chief, not Jack. “And you shut up!
