Othello and Today’s Society
A sociopath is one who possesses multiple compelling traits, they make it hard to resist the superficial charm they toss out with a hint of enmity. Author M.E. Thomas, who is a sociopath herself, wrote a book titled, “Confessions of a Sociopath: A Life Spent Hiding in Plain Sight”. Throughout the book she goes into detail about her ambiguous experiences as a sociopath, she states, “Sociopaths can be dangerous; they’re hungry for power and they don't feel guilt or remorse.” Speaking of “hungry for power”, in Shakespeare's “Othello”, the antagonist Iago, goes to some pretty lengthy extremes to get what he wants.
