Why did Chris McCandless write in his journal ,of his journey, in third person? I believe Chris started writing in third person between December 1990 to January 1991 (Krakauer Chapter 2) because that is when Alex Supertramp was born. The use of third person makes the reader feel like Chris sees himself as a different person, almost like he's standing back watching his own life.
If Chris was brought up a totally different way, for example poor, without a father with two families, and/or without an abusive household would he be alive right now? I think Chris's childhood was half the cause of why he left. But also suffering from
