Do rich kids have the same problems as very low and poor class kids? In the novel, The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton, two different social class groups are crazily opposite and have totally different lives. The Socs are usually stuck up no good, better than everyone people and don’t have much to worry about. Meanwhile, the Greasers have many things to worry about and to look out for. Although many may say that Socs and Greasers are nothing alike, they both surprisingly share problems including family issues, getting themselves in bad situations, and having bad habits that could later hurt you. To begin with, one problem that they share is that they both have bad habits that could affect their later lives. For instance, The socs have a problem with drinking which will most likely disturb their later lives. This is important because it is also stated in an article titled, Cool at 13, Adrift at 23 where it state ,”As they turned 23, the study found that when compared to their socially slower-moving middle-school peers, they had a 45 percent greater rate of problems resulting from alcohol and marijuana use and a 40 percent higher level of actual use of those substances. As an illustration, the Greasers get themselves in bad situations when they try to run from the “fuzz” or cops. This is stated when one of them did this act,” He phoned from the booth. He just robbed a grocery store and the cops are after him.We gotta hide him”. This shows that they get themselves into bad situations just like the Socs. Correspondingly, the Socs get themselves into bad situations like rumbles and fights. This is illustrated when they get in a big fight with the Greasers which leads them to losing and getting hurt. This demonstrates that they both get in situations that are not good. In summary, the Socs and the Greasers last problem they share is being in not so good
