The project that I chose to do was to create a brochure to persuade the United States citizens to elect this president to a second term. Include successes from this president’s first term as well as those things he plans to accomplish in his second term. The United States President that I have chosen to research is Ronald Reagan.
The information that I have found for my brochure on President Reagan, I found on the internet. I searched through several websites to find the information that I needed to use for my project. The internet is the only source of information that I used for my brochure.
The sources that I used were found from the internet. The sources that I used were the White House.gov, PBS.org, and The Eighties Club.com. The sources that are listed all have information that is listed within each other. All three sources have shared information. All information is not identical but is similar in content.
I have learned that for my brochure that during President Reagan’s first term as president that he developed the Economic Recovery Program. The Economic Recovery Program was a recovery program to cut government spending, cut the federal income tax, reduce government control, and cut inflation.
President Reagan refused to cut money from the social programs that helped the poor, the disabled, and the elderly people. The Social Security Program he vowed not to touch feeling that this was important to those who had worked and to those who were disabled and needed and relied on the program to survive.
President Ronald Reagan also adjusted the tax cut to twenty five percent over a three year time period to help shopkeepers, businesses, and citizens. This helped by giving people more money back to the people.
President Ronald Reagan decided that since our National Defense was “weak”, he decided to increase the budget to include more spending to strengthen our defense. He felt that we needed to strengthen our National Defense if we wanted to protect our nation against attacks at home or to protect our allies.
President Reagan vowed that creating jobs for the jobless would be a part of his plan for his second term for presidency. Another goal that President Reagan would like to achieve for
