The fabrications of Milkman’s name simply come from the non existence of responsibility in his life because of his upbringing, upperclass. The existence of responsibility does not become apparent until Milkman is destined to journey in sought of gold that forces him to become glued into miscellaneous situations. These acts convey the true adult mentality of Milkman that was never apparent in his childhood.
