A group of Mande-speakers named the Soninke created the first Western Sudanese empire named Ghana. The oldest piece of Ghana’s history is contained in the the Soninke oral tradition or, a myth. They are very similar to Greek bards like Homer and for a long time, griots learned how to put subjects like drama and music in their stories. The first thing griots learn is the first pui.
