Sony places a high priority on ensuring accurate disclosure and effective communications with its stakeholders. Sony published environmental reports in 1994, 1997, 1999 and 2001. In light of the increasing attention given to companies’ social accountability, in 2002 Sony published its first Social and Environmental Report. In 2003, Sony widened the scope of information on its corporate social responsibility described in the report and renamed it the “CSR Report.” Sony’s CSR Report 2005 is the third using this format.
