Today's interactive oral presentations on the social and political context of Ancient Greece helped me achieve a deeper understanding of Sophocles' adaptation of the play Antigone. While reading the play, I had been unsure about Antigone' s decisions; why did she have to publicize her decisions, and not keep it private? Why would she risk getting caught? However, these question were soon answered through the presentations.
