Southpaw Opulent living Billy Hope is a champion boxer who faces a variety of emotional obstacles in Southpaw. Billy is thrown into a downward spiral of dangerous and risky behavior after losing his wife in a devastating accident which causes him to lose custody of his daughter and he must fight his way back to the top for his late wife, his honor, and his beloved daughter. Southpaw is a touching and intense film that will leave viewers on the edge of their seats in support and emotionally chilled with misty eyes. Southpaw is full of suspenseful fight scenes that leave you clinging to a strand of hope for billy as he takes a beating inside the ropes. These moments can become very intense as one finds him/herself empathetically rooting for billy hope as he bounces around the ring. The storyline for Southpaw was written in such a magnificent way. The film was not solely focused on Billy in the ring, directors did not flood the movie with an incredulous amount of boxing matches. Producers of the film showcased Billy and has family in such a loving and affectionate light that viewers themselves emotionally connect to the family. This emotional connection keeps one fine-tuned and focused in on the film and all its events. The connection caused by the film is what provokes such an emotional and empathetic reaction when Billy loses his wife in a harrowing accident. This loss of a main character that one was so emotionally connected to causes viewers to feel for Mr. Hope as he laments over his late wife.
